Since the year 1991, SAFI has been a savior to the drug and alcohol addicts in Kerala. The compassionate services provided by the organization through its Navachaithanya Centre in Aloor such as de-addiction camps (pan-Indian, week-based), one-on-one and family counselling, AA group formation and follow-ups and emotional support to the addicts. The centre takes initiatives by going to schools and colleges educating the people about substance abuse through awareness programs as well as going to the community and door-to-door to inform the people about substance abuse preventing the problem at its nascent stage. Having compassion as its leading principle, Navachaithanya has assisted hundreds of people in getting their lives back and recovering relationships. Recovery is not enough, it is about leading people and families to a long-lasting recovery, dignity, and hope.
